Grotesque revisits the roots of the Amsterdam dance scene

On Saturday April 22nd, Grotesque lands its new edition at a remarkable place: Warehouse Elementenstraat in Amsterdam. 25 years ago, the legendary Multigroove parties thrown in this particular warehouse unlocked the house madness – and kick-started the Amsterdam dance scene. With her Music Night, Grotesque brings an ode to the oldskool raves, by returning to the real underground feel, in which music is the key. With long sets and a daring line-up, in the industrial setting of the Warehouse Elementenstraat, Grotesque welcomes its visitors to another promising edition.

The Indoor Festival 250 in the Maassilo last December, which was voted the number 2 festival of the Benelux in Partyscene’s Festivalchart Awards, is still etched in our memory. But Grotesque always loves to look ahead and preparations for the Music Night are in full effect. At Indoor Festival 250, entertainment and show were an important part of the event, but with Music Night it’s all about experiencing the music – as it were at the Amsterdam dance raves of twenty years ago.

With sets of at least 1,5 hours per DJ, the Warehouse Edition’s line-up is a well-balanced mix of trance and progressive DJ’s. Next to the world-exclusive b2b set of uplifting trance heroes Arctic Moon & Darren Porter, you’ll also find Solarstone, RAM, David Gravell, Ciaran McAuley and MC Stretch on stage that night. On Saturday April 22nd, from 21.00-05.00, these DJ’s and Grotesque will join forces in revisiting a piece of dance history.
